Rescue Me ID: 16-07-11-00690SANDY (female)

Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

SANDY -- Beagle Mix Beauty Sandy is a real cutie-pie! She's a pretty low-key kind of girl, happy to go for a nice walk then take a good long nap! She lives for belly rubs. If you walk up to her she slowly rolls over onto her back. If she could, I think she would point at her belly as if to say, 'right here!' Her coat is beautiful and soft so you would not mind giving her those belly rubs to longs for!! Sandy does well with most other dogs but would do best with non-confrontational dogs. Her foster family doesn't have cats or kids so it's unknown how she would act with them. As you can see she is an adult and has reached her maximum ... (Read More)weight and height. She has perfect house manners and not destructive to anything even her own toys. She's house trained and crate trained and walks well on a leash. Sandy is good at getting out of the backyard so will need extra supervision while outdoors for the first couple weeks until she realizes she is safe at her new home. Sandy can be a little bashful at first but warms up nicely to those who show her love. https://www.facebook.com/100010604893146/videos/248860142144147/ Roxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter. All of our dogs are raised in private homes. Each dog comes spayed/neutered (fixed), up to date on vaccinations and rabies shots appropriate for their age, and de-wormed twice. Anatolian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

COSMO -- Playful, Sweet, Affectionate & Handsome! Hey there! My name is Cosmo. I can't wait to meet you! They say I look like a little Black Mouth Cur or maybe Anatolian Shepherd mix. My foster mom tells me all the time what a good boy I am. I learned how to sit in about 2 minutes so she says I'm pretty smart too. She's so impressed at how well I walk on a leash. And not to mention that I'm house trained and go into my crate whenever she asks me to. One of my favorite things to do is play with the other dogs who live here. We are all waiting with patience for our own forever home. The vet thinks I'm about a year old and I weigh 44 lbs ... (Read More)but shouldn't get much bigger. You can see me playing with one of my foster moms dogs in the video. My foster mom says she thinks I'm an all around great dog who will be a great buddy for whoever adopts me. I am fully vetted, I have been neuter, my vaccinations are all up to date including the rabies, I am microchipped so you can find me if I ever get lost. My medical records will come with at the time of adoption. All I need is a family to love me and make me a part of their family forever. https://img.youtube.com/vi/gvcnMcgZrBA/default.jpg (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-31-00420Lola (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

DISCLAIMER: Lola is posted as good with adults and kids, she is but we would prefer that she go to a home with kids over 12 years of age. The younger kids seem to make her nervous. Sweet Miss Lola is a 2 1/2 year old Shepherd/ Boxer mix. As you can see by several of her photos, she knows how cute it is when she tilts her head. It's her signature move and she does it often! So cute. Lola is house trained and loves her crate more than any dog I've ever known. She's a quiet dog who rarely barks. Lola gets along well with other dogs. She's up for whatever you are: want to play? She's up for that! Want to lounge on the couch all ... (Read More)afternoon? She'll keep you company! Want to go out for a walk? She won't pull at all. Want to go for a car ride? She jumps right into her crate and you won't even know she's in there! We took her on an RV trip and she did great with that too. Lola wags her whole body, not just her tail and not just her butt! For this reason, she might not be the best option in families with small children who could be accidentally knocked down in her moments of excitement. Children 10+ should be fine. The foster home where Lola currently lives doesn't have any cats so it's unknown whether she would do ok in a home with cats. She does very well with the other dogs in her foster family. She loves to play chase and tug with the younger dogs and is respectful of the two elderly dogs in the household. Lola weighs 53 lbs, which is much better than the 41 lbs she weighed when she was rescued. She's a beautiful, eager to please dog looking for a kind, loving owner to treasure her and in return she will be loyal to you forever. Rescue Me ID: 16-05-31-00410Poppy (female)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Miss Poppy is a firecracker & a beautiful sight in the sunshine. Her gorgeous white coat glistens off the sun as does her golden eyes. She hops and bounces and just has fun playing in the wind. Always happy and loves to kiss & play, very adventurous, explorer and nosy!!! Poppy is 10 months old and born in my home. I know for sure she has Border Collie in her because I saw her purebred Border Collie father mating with her mother. I rescued her mother while she was pregnant and she gave birth to a litter of 7 a week later. Poppy's father (Logan) both can be seen on our website: roxysk9rescue.org Poppy is the only one left of her ... (Read More)litter not adopted :( She is a typical puppy, easy going, plays well with her foster brothers & sisters. She is crate trained and will scream to be let out to potty. She runs up & down the stairs, full of energy. Poppy is not hyper, she is just happy and loves to play with kids and other foster dogs. She can be a bit independent but she still likes to be held and given some love. So she is content playing with her toys or chew rawhides and she is happy to play with you and cuddle with you but she is not under your feet all the time. She comes running as soon as I lose sight of her and call her name. She does go to the door and whine when she needs to go out to potty. Crate trained as well. She is also in a home with a 4 year old girl. ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED Roxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our foster dogs are raised in foster homes. Rescue Me ID: 16-05-31-00403Baby Girl (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Baby Girl is a 1 year old Labrador Retriever Mix. Her brown brindle colors are really pretty with the golden highlights. Baby Girl was preoccupied while I was trying to take pictures and she is not looking like the happy-go-lucky girl that she is. I will have to update her pictures later. Her story: she was thrown into the yard of an elderly lady as a 6 week old baby. She had a terrible skin infection, so bad she was screaming in pain constantly. I had to bath her twice daily, her medication was helping but the painful screaming did not stop until after 4 days. She would calm down as I held her but boy was it hard to look into ... (Read More)those little baby eyes begging me to help her. Happily Baby Girl is all better now, she is playing with toys and her foster brothers and sisters. She walks good on a leash, comes when called and does whatever you ask of her as she is very eager to please. Baby Girl is crate trained and house trained. She loves her food and rawhide chews. Right now she is only 37 lbs and almost at her adult height and weight so I do not expect her to be more than 40 pounds as an adult IF she gets that big. Her growth has been slow so I would not be surprised if she remained on the smaller/medium size. Baby Girl loves to play chase in the backyard and would be a great companion to another dog big or small, she plays with the all in a nice way. Actually her best friend POPPY is only 1 month older than Baby Girl and outweighs her by 20 pounds. They chase each, wrestle, jump over each other and just have a blast together. I have video of both of them I can send at request. Can you be Baby Girls second hero and give her the forever home that she deserves? Rescue Me ID: 16-05-26-00674Tyson (male)

Basset Hound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

TYSON Low Rider was his birth name because of his appearance, short legs with body very low to the ground and he is a mixture of a few different things. And boy does he have a story behind him. Tyson and his 9 siblings were born in my home after I rescued his very pregnant mother, her very pregnant daughter and another daughter just 6 months old. They had been dumped in a local park here in San Antonio, Texas. It was freezing cold and raining outside. His mother gave birth about 3 days after I got her and her daughter gave birth the very next week. A different rescue took in the pregnant daughter and the 6 month old daughter. All of ... (Read More)the puppies came out very different but healthy and happy. You know a female dog can become impregnated by up to 7 different males and surely this is what happened to Tyson's mother Paris. Miss Paris really had a diverse group of babies!!!! Tyson was adopted out by a family with kids and even though he was raised inside my home, they kept him outside. He escaped his fence and got hit by a car. Sadly the car that hit him left him there until Animal Control Services (ACS) our city shelter picked him up very injured. He lay all evening and night in a bed of ants that bite him all over. That car really hit him hard. Thank goodness for microchips, ACS notified me that they had one of my dogs. When I went to pick up Tyson, I was shocked at his injuries. I immediately took him to my vet and he spent a week there before coming home to heal even more. Tyson endured several surgeries and he is back to being a normal dog. He is happy, friendly and loving, also very obedient. Tyson was not returned to his adoptive family because they were not able to pay the enormous vet fees for his surgeries and care. So I am trying to find the right forever home for Tyson. Tyson does run and jump, plays chase, wrestles and has no limitations. His back leg is does not bend completely because he had a steel rod in place for longer than normal to help the bones heal to prevent amputation. This is a dog with a very playful and sweet personality; he loves everyone and gets along with other dogs very well. I have attached pictures of his injuries, his mother & litter mates and current pictures of Tyson. I plan on posting a video of him soon so you can see him in action and know he has no limitations. Most of all Tyson loves kids and some human attention. He loves the camera; he weighs 37 pounds and a mixture of basset hound, beagle and who knows what else.
